The Situation

The Mercer Hotel was and always has been an incredibly iconic property to experience in Soho. The website, unfortunately weren’t conveying that to the general public who weren’t familiar with the hotel, and the branding needed a polish.

The Ask

Troup was tasked with an incredible opportunity. To restore the overall brand story of the Mercer, originally designed by the late great Tibor Kalman. And with that, we needed to capture loads of foundational content as well as redesign the site from the ground up to convey the essence of the property.

The Answer

Working with property managers Ansell & Michel, we completely overhauled the design look & feel as well as functionality for the site. Our good friend Patrick Chin captured amazing still & video content that we used throughout. And you may notice a few illustrations on the site, that seem familiar. Those were created by the iconic Maira Kalman, a frequent contributor to the New Yorker and the New York Times and wife of Tibor.
